Melissa McAfee – MJM Communications Principal
As the Principal and Founder of MJM Communications, Melissa McAfee has over 10 years experience in marketing, public relations and advertising. In 2002, after working in the marketing sector for years, Melissa obtained an international journalism degree from the University of Queensland, in Brisbane, Australia. Coming back to Vancouver, Melissa worked in agencies for clients such as 7-Eleven, Genesis Security, the Mining Association of BC and Molson Canadian. Deciding to try her hand at in-house PR, Melissa worked as a PR Manager for 1-800-GOT-JUNK? for two years, landing countless stories in the Associated Press, the New York Times and several US and Canadian TV media outlets. Launching MJM Communications in 2006 and www.prinabox.ca in 2007, Melissa's clients currently include the West Vancouver School District and the Heart and Stroke Foundation of BC and Yukon.
Benita Ha – MJM Communications Consultant
Having worked in television as a Producer, News Anchor, and Performer for over 15 years, Benita is very familiar with the many aspects of media. Studying Journalism at King's College in Halifax, Nova Scotia and Communications at Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, British Columbia, Benita has gone on to work with such networks as the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), CTV, Citytv and the Discovery Channel. Benita provides a second language, a strong pitching style and an extensive network of Vancouver media contacts which has proven integral to the MJM Communications team.
